Q: How do I
activate the dialer to re-dial?
A: After
you dial a busy telephone number, just hit '**' (star, star
twice) from your telephone. This activates the dialer to repeatedly
dial that number. The dialer will continue to re-dial until
you stop it by hanging up the telephone or hitting the '**'
button on the front of the unit. When it finally "breaks
through", it will sound an alarm.

Q: Will it
work through my speakerphone?
A: Yes.
It works with all standard analog telephones and speakerphones.
It does not work with cell phones.

Q: Can I
Use the PowerDialer on my office telephone system?
A: Yes,
the dialer will work with virtually any telephone system as
long as it is connected between the telephone lines entering
the system and the telephone system itself. Your telephone
company can quickly and easily do this for you. If a dialer
is connected to your office phone system, anyone in the office
can use the re-dialing capabilities by selecting the line the
dialer is attached to. If you cannot connect your PowerDialer
in this manner, often it can be connected to the company's fax
machine line which is usually a stand-alone line.

Q: How fast
does it dial?
A: It can dial up to 25 times a
minute, if you are calling a local number and you have a relatively fast central office
(CO) completing the calls. If you are calling a long distance number or a number that is
totally "jammed up", it will not dial as fast, but still as fast as the
telephone company can handle.

Q: Does the
product have a warranty or guarantee?
A: Yes, the PowerDialer comes with
a 10-day, money-back, trial period and a full two-year warranty if anything goes wrong.

Q: How fast
can it detect busy signals?
A: It usually takes the dialer
only about 1/4 second to detect fast or slow busies. When it finally breaks-through, it
will sound the alarm very quickly.

Q: How does
the unit connect up to my telephone?
A: It
connects up in series between your telephone line, and any standard
telephone (the same way you would connect an answering machine).
Once this is done, connect the power supply and you are set
to go.

Q: Will the
dialer work with my two-line telephone?
A: Yes, but it only adds redialing
capability to "Line-1" and passes "Line-2" unchanged.
[back to list]
Q: Will the
dialer work with my cordless phone?
A: Yes, just connect the dialer up
to the telephone line at the cordless phone's base.

Q: When
the lines are really jammed, I sometimes get 3 tones, then an "all circuits are
busy" message. Will the dialer detect this?
A: Absolutely. These are called
SIT tones and precede most, but not all "All circuits are busy" messages. When
the dialer detects 2 out of the 3 tones, it will hang up and try again.

Q: I want
to use the dialer with my computer’s modem to get into AOL. Will this work?
A: Yes, the dialer will try up to
4 minutes before giving up. To make this work with your modem you will need to change the
modem initialization string in your modem’s setup window. This is outlined in the
PowerDialer user’s manual.

Q: I am
using the dialer to call Ticketmaster. Can you guarantee that I will get through?
A: The PowerDialer does not
guarantee that you will break-through, but it does significantly increase the odds that
you will. Many people have a number of the dialers all going at the same time to really
have an advantage.

Q: I have
been doing radio contest lines for years and I can dial 17 times a minute. Why should I
purchase a dialer if it can only dial a bit faster than I can?
A: That’s the point! You do
not have to dial for hours until your fingers are raw to the bone, the dialer will do it
for you. Relax, have a cup of coffee and wait until it breaks through for you!

Q: All the
switches in the back confuse me. Do I need to change them?
A: Probably not. The units are set
at the factory to be "plug-and-play". Advanced users can manipulate the switches
to handle strange situations, or to configure the dialer to dial slightly faster, or more
slowly. See the user’s manual for instructions on how these work.

Q: I want
to use the dialer to dial a number that keeps ringing and has no answer. When someone gets
home, I want it to sound the alarm. Can it do this?
A: Yes,
just hit '##' (pound, pound twice on your phone or the '##'
button on the front of the dialer) instead of '**' (star, star).

Q:
I’m from Italy. Will the PowerDialer work here?
A: No.

US standards.
[back to list]
Q: Can I
listen to it dialing?
A: Yes, the product has a built-in
speaker so that you can monitor redialing attempts. If you do not wish to hear the
attempts, you can turn the speaker volume down, or disable the speaker altogether by
changing a dip-switch position in the back.

Q: Can the
PowerDialer store numbers?
A: Yes,
it can store up to 10 frequently used numbers. It will remember
the numbers even when power is lost. To recall stored numbers,
hit *1* (star, the number 1, and star again) to dial the number
in location 1, *2* to dial the number in locations 2,
etc.

Q: Can I
hook up the Dialer so it will work with all the phones in my house?
